Longueuil police have turned to the public in an effort to locate Carmelle Thériault, 68, who was last seen at about 1 p.m. in Boucherville on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Police say they have reason to fear for her health and safety. Information they have gleaned thus far suggests Thériault, who travels by foot or public transit, was recently seen in the area of Highway 30 and on the Montée Ste-Julie in Ste-Julie.

She may also be in the company of a grey and white striped, 12-week-old kitten that is being carried in her bag.

Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
