The Pittsburgh Steelers are cutting linebacker Jacoby Windmon , the team announced on Tuesday. That will clear another spot on their practice squad. Windmon was singed by the team three weeks ago to add another inside linebacker to the room after their release of Ja’Whaun Bentley.
Windmon has only been with the Carolina Panthers signed him off the Steelers’ practice squad last year. They released him in August and no team since has swooped in to sign him.
Windmon, an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State in 2024, did not make the Steelers’ 53-man roster after playing well in the preseason last year. Instead, he joined the team’s practice squad as an edge rusher and linebacker that can play at both spots.
Windmon played in eight games with the Panthers, racking up 1.5 sacks and 13
