A 42-year-old woman and her dog have died following a horror crash on the A8 in Port Glasgow .
Around 7.05am on Wednesday, October 29, emergency services rushed to Greenock Road after they were struck by a Land Rover Sport as they crossed the eastbound carriageway.
Tragically, Amy Gray, 42, from Port Glasgow, and her dog Reggie both died at the scene.
Their family is aware, and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal. The driver of the Land Rover was not injured.
The A8 Greenock Road has since been reopened.
Specialist officers are with Amy's family, and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
