Hamilton police say they’re investigating a hate crime in the Meadowlands neighbourhood.

On Saturday night, a 20-year-old woman was walking near Golf Links Road and Neville Drive when people drove up to her, used anti-Black, racist slurs and assaulted her, police said in a news release Tuesday.

The people in the vehicle were “unknown to the victim,” police said, with one of them described as a light-skinned male, with curly black or brown hair. The vehicle is described as a silver or brown sedan.

Police are asking people in the area to review security footage from between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Oct. 25. They ask anyone with information to get in touch.
