PRESTON, Conn. (WFSB) - A 67-year-old Norwich man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Route 2 Monday night, according to state police.

Robert Edwin McGlothin was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred near Hewitt Road.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and is believed to be a 2019 to 2025 BMW X series with possible front-end and undercarriage damage from the collision.

Route 2 was closed in both directions at Hewitt Road during the investigation but has since reopened.

State Police are asking anyone with information, dash camera footage, or who has seen a BMW X series with damage to contact Troop E at 860-848-6500.

The investigation remains active.
