Michigan-based beer bar HopCat has been purchased by a private investment partnership headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, that says it plans to grow the brand while staying focused on being an affordable place to eat and drink.

Uncommon Equity LLC announced on Wednesday that it has purchased Grand Rapids-based Project BarFly, LLC, which includes all 12 of the Michigan HopCat restaurants, Stella's Lounge in Grand Rapids and a HopCat in Lincoln, Nebraska. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
