GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A private investment partnership based out of Chicago, Uncommon Equity LLC (“UEQ”), has purchased Grand Rapids-based Project Barfly. Project Barfly owned 12 HopCat restaurants across the state of Michigan, as well as Stella's Lounge in Grand Rapids and another restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The groups did not share the financial terms of the transaction.

HopCat was founded in 2008 in Grand Rapids and offers casual dining as well as a rotating list of craft brews and cocktails. One of the chain's most popular menu items is its Cosmik Fries, which have earned them a loyal following across the state.
