SEATTLE — Incumbent Sara Nelson and challenger Dionne Foster are presenting Seattle voters with distinct approaches to tackling homelessness, public safety and housing affordability in the race for city council position 9.
The seat is an at-large position. That means the elected official represents the entire city, not a specific district.
Nelson is the current city council president and has served four years on the council. She is also the co-owner of Fremont Brewery. Nelson emphasizes her experience and track record as top reasons why she should be re-elected.
