KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 21-year-old man from Hesperia was arrested for suspicion of DUI after he crashed while driving the wrong way on Interstate 5 in Kings County, killing a man from Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says on Saturday, October 25, around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Interstate 5 northbound, north of Utica Avenue.

Investigators with CHP say the driver, identified as 21-year-old Josue Gutierrez Garcia of Hesperia, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban the wrong way as he was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5.

At the same time, a man from Bakersfield was driving a Chevrolet Malibu, and a 51-year-old from Pleasanton was driving a Subaru Legacy.
