EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville man is facing charges after being accused of stabbing a victim.
Police say they were called to a local hospital on Tuesday evening to investigate a report of a stabbing.
According to police, the suspect was still on the scene and was trying to get the victim to lie about their injuries.
Officers say they discovered the suspect was 25-year-old Christopher Young, but that he left the scene.
Authorities were able to speak with the victim in the emergency room, and determined Young had stabbed the victim with a large kitchen knife during an altercation.
When authorities questioned Young, they say he claimed he armed himself with the knife while being attacked by the victim, and that it was an accident and he acted in self-defense.
