KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - District Attorney General Charme Allen announced that a third DUI conviction was obtained against Ben Tambo Wasike.
Wasike, who has two previous DUI convictions, was found passed out in his car at a gas station on Sep. 22, 2019.
Police found Wasike asleep in an improperly parked and running vehicle in a Weigel’s parking lot.
“When Wasike woke up, he had bloodshot eyes, had difficulty opening his glovebox and retrieving his ID, and smelled of alcohol. Wasike refused to submit to field sobriety tests and denied consuming alcohol, but a mandatory blood draw showed a blood alcohol content of 0.134,” Allen said.
He had a two day trial regarding the incident in 2019.
