(WATE) — Dozens, including some names known in the NBA and former professional athletes, are facing charges after they were accused of taking part in schemes involving illegal sports betting and rigged poker games backed by the Mafia. The scandals that made headlines last week involved two gambling schemes: one using private insider NBA information on sports betting, and the other involving rigged underground poker games backed by Mafia families and using pro athletes and coaches to lure in rich targets.
