CLEVELAND — Jahard Colon, a Westlake man, has been sentenced for .

The 23-year-old appeared in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday, Oct. 29, where a judge sentenced him to 60 days in jail and two years probation for the April attack.

"You have no right to put your hands on anybody ever," said Judge Hollie Gallagher. "That's unacceptable behavior.”

Colon previously pleaded guilty to felonious assault, a second-degree felony, in connection with the incident. As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors dropped charges of attempted murder, domestic violence and two counts of strangulation.

On Wednesday, the state pushed for Colon to get more than the minimum punishment.
