FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — The John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center is one of four state-owned hospitals set to be sold to a private entity Friday, and with attempts to delay or halt the sale being unsuccessful, local officials are hopeful the new owners will continue the clinic's quality of care.

The sale of the Manchin clinic — as well as Hopemont Hospital in Preston County, Jackie Withrow Hospital in Raleigh County and Lakin Hospital in Mason County — was announced by West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey in August.

The four facilities are set to be sold to New York-based Marx Development Group for $60 million on Friday, with the company paying an additional $80 million ancillary consideration component.
