LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The United States Postal Service announced this week that it will release a new commemorative stamp in honor of Louisville legend Muhammad Ali.

Ali was a three-time World Heavyweight Champion and humanitarian whose courage, conviction, and compassion changed the world.

Two commemorative stamps, designed by USPS art director Antonio Alcalá, will be released featuring a 1974 Associated Press photograph of Ali in his signature boxing stance.

There will be two versions of the image with different font color.

USPS announced the stamp will go on sale in 2026.

The Ali Center is planning a special dedication ceremony commemorating the launch of the Muhammad Ali USPS Forever Stamp.
