ANN ARBOR – It doesn’t matter what position designation you give Jalen Hoffman, his goal is still the same: emulate Max Bredeson.
Hoffman is listed as a tight end but is primarily used as a blocking fullback or H-back in Michigan’s offense. Bredeson, a fifth-year senior and two-time captain, has held that role for the past four seasons, but the Wolverines also have started to work in Hoffman the past two weeks.
In Saturday’s 31-20 win over Michigan State, Hoffman played a career-high 13 offensive snaps and was on the field together with Bredeson for several plays, including a 13-yard touchdown run from Bryce Underwood in the first quarter.
