SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Louisiana middle school students can now apply for the 2026 National Civics Bee, a national competition that highlights civic knowledge and community leadership. The program is hosted locally by the Greater Shreveport Chamber in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
According to a news release, students in grades six through eight from public, private, charter, and home schools are invited to submit a four-paragraph essay outlining an idea to improve their community. Top essay finalists will move on to a live, quiz-style competition that tests civics knowledge and public speaking skills.
