RICHLAND PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) - Nearly nine months after breaking ground, Meta's AI data center in Louisiana is now projected to cost three times more than originally estimated.

In a statement shared last week on social media by a financial partner in the project, Meta—the majority stakeholder of Facebook and Instagram—announced that the Holly Ridge data center, now named Hyperion, is projected to cost up to $27 billion, a sharp increase from the initial $10 billion allocated as of late 2024.
