ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Troy Bowles transferred to Michigan looking for a fresh start and new opportunity.
And while the redshirt sophomore linebacker maybe hasn’t played as much as he’d hope, that chance may be coming.
The Wolverines entered the week down backup Cole Sullivan, injured in last weekend’s win over Michigan State, and could be without starter Jimmy Rolder when they take the field Saturday to play Purdue (7 p.m., Big Ten Network).
At least, according to Bowles, who seemed to suggest Tuesday after practice that Rolder was injured, too.
“With Cole and Jimmy going down, it’s a detriment to the room a little bit,” Bowles said. “But we definitely have people like Owusu, the freshman, and Chase Taylor and me stepping up. I think we should be good.”
If it’s true, it would be a blow t
