CENTRAL NEW YORK (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- With Halloween just two days away, several local and state agencies have provided tips for trick-or-treaters and their families to keep themselves safe.
Driving safe on Halloween
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles released a study on Wednesday, October 31 from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), that found the risk of pedestrian fatalities is 43 percent higher on Halloween than any other night. The study also found that children between the ages of 4 and 8 are ten times more likely to be hit by a vehicle on Halloween than any other evening.
