MARION OAKS, Fla. (WCJB) - Neighbors are speaking out after a pedestrian was hit and killed for the third time in five days in Marion County.

A 76-year-old man was killed and another was injured Tuesday night after being hit by an S-U-V while he was doing maintenance on a dump truck in Marion Oaks.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say a gray or silver Jeep Cherokee was attempting to make a turn when it failed and ended up on the grass, hitting the two men.

This hit-and-run is a continuation of a worrying trend in the county as this incident marks three deadly pedestrian crash in less than a week.

On Friday, a 35-year-old man was killed was crossing U.S. 27.
