PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Stark Street Bridge on the Sandy River closed Wednesday after a semi-truck crashed while attempting to cross.

Multnomah County officials said the truck collided with the west bridge approach and was stuck as of 1:30 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

“Bridge engineers are currently on their way to the site to evaluate the extent of damage,” Multnomah County spokesperson Sarah Hurwitz said.

This is not the first time the Stark Street Bridge has been the site of a crash. The bridge was closed for six months in 2024 due to a partial collapse that was caused by repeated crashes over the last decade. • The Stark Street Bridge on the Sandy River closed after a semi-truck crash on Oct. 29, 2025.
