MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A teen police say threatened a family member with a gun equipped with a high-capacity magazine is now facing weapons and assault charges.
Kevin Lowery, 18, was arrested Monday in the 1300 block of Overton Park Avenue and charged with Aggravated Assault, Domestic Assault, and multiple drug and weapon-related offenses.
According to the affidavit of complaint, he pulled out a gun after he got into an argument with his uncle, and the uncle told Lowery he would be taking him to another relative's home for the night.
The uncle said Lowery drew a handgun from his hip, removed a standard magazine, and replaced it with a high-capacity magazine. The uncle said Lowery stated, "Once you drop me off, you better drive away quickly because I'm going to start shooting at you."
