Powerful Hurricane Melissa left a trail of destruction across Jamaica and Cuba.

"I am hurting for my countrymen; I'm hurting for my country. It's significant, significant devastation and loss," said Keisha Lawla. She operates Boswell's Jamaican Grill on Tulane Avenue.
Lawla was born in Jamaica, where her mom, dad and other relatives still are. Fortunately, she's been in touch and says her loved ones are OK.
"It is absolutely terrifying. It makes you cry, you are worried, friends here are worried," Lawla said.
