DETROIT — One of the most popular players on the Detroit Lions is staying in the Motor City for the foreseeable. The Lions announced on Wednesday that EDGE rusher Aidan Hutchinson has signed a contract extension that will keep him in Detroit through the 2030 season.
ESPN reports the extension is worth $180 million, including $141 million guaranteed. The contract makes him the top paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
Hutchinson, who is 25 years old, is a Michigan native. Born in Plymouth, he played high school football at Dearborn Divine Child before moving on to the University of Michigan where he was an All-American for the Wolverines and the runner up for the Heisman Trophy in 2021. The next year, the Lions drafted Hutchinson where he's become a Pro Bowler.
