OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - The Grand in Oshkosh is an opera house that has been a performance hub in the city’s downtown for over 140 years.
It’s the oldest operating theater in the state, and while the venue normally welcomes guests for live musical performances and speaker series, once October hits, The Grand leans into its haunted history, bringing the tales of its ghostly past back to life.
On many accounts, The Grand in Oshkosh is considered to be one of the most haunted places in all of Wisconsin.
It’s something the theater has embraced, forming dozens of ghost stories told over hundreds of years into a tour titled “Spirits of The Grand”.
“If it’s going to be part of our identity, let’s take control of how we present it,” says Joseph Ferlo, the director of The Grand Oshkosh.
