MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after police said she was struck by a car while walking on Center Street in Manchester Wednesday evening.

According to the Manchester Police Department, officers responded to the area of 288 Center Street at around 6:47 p.m. on Wednesday after it was reported that a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle.

The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was taken to Hartford Hospital for emergency treatment. The driver, a 77-year-old man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

This crash is under investigation by the Manchester Police Traffic Unit. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to call Officer Nicholas Sinopoli at 860-533-8620.
