Drivers on I-95 northbound approaching Wilmington are about to see the second of the two major construction zones undergo its own lane split.
While plenty of attention has gone towards the lane split that features a barrier that actually is the center of the bridge over the Christina River, DelDOT has also been working about a mile up the road on the I-95 Northbound bridges over I-295 Southbound.
This second zone has seen the five thru lanes reduced to four just after I-295, and then shoved over to the right side of the highway on the curve leading to the I-495 split.
The work to repair the left side of the two bridges is nearly complete, and DelDOT is projecting a pattern change on the week of November.
