The Bay Area’s figure skating darling is gearing up for what she hopes will be her second Olympics.
Alysa Liu is fresh off her first figure skating Grand Prix and brought home a silver medal from the competition in China.
Now the reigning world champion is looking ahead to the Winter Olympics in Milan.
Liu says her mentality 100 days to these games is very different from how she felt 100 days before her first Olympic experience at the 2022 games in Beijing. She was just 16 at the time, but already thinking about retirement.
“I was probably thinking ‘can’t we just get this over with? Like can it be after Olympics so I can retire yet?’ I was only thinking that. But this time around I’m really excited,” Liu said.
