ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- City Council is considering outlawing golf carts and other slow-moving vehicles from city streets.

But much like the vehicles themselves, council is taking its time to reach its destination.

The ordinance, introduced last month, would ban anyone from driving a slow- and under-speed vehicle from any street or roadway that is used by the public.

However, council put the legislation on hold at its Oct. 27 meeting to study how other communities have sought to regulate golf carts.

“We’re just trying to figure out, if they’re going to be permitted, is it going to be every road or some roads based on speed limit, school zones, traffic, etc,” Rocky River Law Director Michael O’Shea said.
