BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Central Alabama Water Board (CAW) approved a $2.4 million settlement with a former attorney Wednesday.
Mark Parnell, who served as the utility’s attorney from 1988 until June of this year, had sued the board for wrongful termination.
During the CAW meeting Wednesday, the board agreed to a settlement with Parnell, which includes a $1 million payout or annuity in January 2026 and a $1 million consulting agreement spread out over three years.
A one time payment of $400,000 will be paid when the settlement is approved by the court.
