In a major success in ongoing counter-insurgency operations, Assam Rifles personnel recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing one kilogram each from a hut in Insu village under Chongkham police station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai district on Wednesday night.
According to officials, the explosives were found hidden inside the hut whose owner is currently absconding. Preliminary investigation suggests that the IEDs were brought to the location by cadres of the banned outfit ULFA (Independent). Authorities suspect that the explosives were intended to target security forces deployed in the area.
