HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University football team heads down south for a chance to win its first road Sun Belt Conference game, facing Coastal Carolina at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2.

Each team is coming off an open week, and both enter with consecutive wins. The Thundering Herd’s last action was a 40-37 win over Texas State at home in double overtime, while Coastal Carolina last produced a 45-37 win at Appalachian State.

Marshall now has its final five games of the regular season uninterrupted by breaks. Herd coach Tony Gibson said the goal is to maintain health through the final stretch, with Marshall in contention for the SBC East Division Title.
