College basketball season in Rhode Island begins Monday night, Nov. 3.
Bryant’s women get us started in a 6 p.m. tip against Central Connecticut State at Chace Athletic Center. That begins the five-month road to March Madness, one guaranteed to be filled with the usual twists and turns.
The Bulldogs men were the only Division I program in the state who tasted any glory in 2024-25. They bulldozed through the America East conference, winning both regular-season and tournament titles to reach the NCAA Tournament for the second time. A loss to Michigan State in Cleveland proved to be the end of a chapter in school history, with coach Phil Martelli Jr. hired away to Virginia Commonwealth and the majority of his star players either joining him there or exhausting their eligibility.
