A shelter in Fort Simpson, N.W.T., is badly in need of repairs — or a whole new building — but a move won’t happen anytime soon after its manager and some staff resigned last weekend.
Dehcho Society for Wellness and Sustainable Development board member Sean Whelly, told CBC the facility’s manager, along with at least two staff members, resigned on the weekend after learning board members would not accept a proposal to move the shelter from a decaying retail space into a log building owned by the Pentecostal church.
The shelter manager also confirmed to CBC News they resigned over the board's decision.
