LAFAYETTE, La. (KPLC) - I-10 East is closed at I-49 in Lafayette after an 18-wheeler caught fire.

The truck hit a guardrail before catching fire, Lafayette police said. The truck was not carrying hazardous materials, and no injuries have been reported.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area until further notice. Traffic is being diverted off the interstate at University Avenue.
