PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A local coffee shop wants to bridge the gap in safe, late-night hangout spots for Portlanders of all ages.

Starting Tuesday, Nov. 11, Rose City Coffee Co. will remain open for 24 hours daily. The Brooklyn neighborhood cafe most recently extended its hours last year — a change that owner Christie Gryphon described as another step in “bouncing back” from the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I felt like it was time for us to make this next transition, to kind of bridge this gap, because there were a lot of times that a lot of tables were full with students at 11 p.m., when we would close,” Gryphon said. “It never feels good to ask people to leave, especially when they're working on something very important.”
