PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Southeast Portland staple is brewing some support for local food banks and the families they serve ahead of a federal food assistance freeze on Nov. 1.
Montavilla Brew Works is asking neighbors to "Snap to It' donating non-perishable food today at the brewery's taproom on SE Stark Street.
The food bank benefit is happening on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Beer lovers will get a $1-off discount on their first pint for donating at least two non-perishable food items.
Kohr Harlan visited the brewery to tell us how the business is also stepping up as the need for food grows.
