AUBURN, Maine — A Lewiston man is facing kidnapping and domestic violence charges after police say he forced a woman into his vehicle, assaulted her, and threatened to kill her if she did not steal for him at the Auburn Walmart on Tuesday.

The incident began around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, when a Walmart employee approached an officer working a security detail at the store, Auburn police said in a press release . The employee said a woman inside the store reported she had been threatened.

The officer located the 30-year-old woman, who told police that her ex-boyfriend, identified as 50-year-old Harrison Coleman of Lewiston, had physically assaulted her, forced her into his vehicle, and drove her to the Walmart, according to the release.
