LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Lexington County officials announced this week that funding may be available to fix or replace residents’ septic systems in the Congaree Creek Watershed.
The county said the program, through its Congaree Creek Septic 319 Project, offers a 60-80% cost-share to qualifying homeowners for eligible repairs or replacements “that address environmental concerns and improve water quality.”
“For example, if a septic system repair or replacement costs $5,000, and the homeowner qualifies for 60% assistance, the homeowner would pay $2,000 to the contractor, while the county would pay the remaining $3,000 after inspection and approval of the completed work.
