SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Two prison-related groups that shared members shared time on Wednesday in Sioux Falls.
The summer study called Initial Incarceration, Reentry Analysis and Comparison of Relevant States Interim Committee. In short, it's a committee that studied recidivism and reentry in the state and other states. That group met on Wednesday morning.
The Correctional Rehabilitation Task Force was appointed by Gov. Larry Rhoden and met in the afternoon.
The back-to-back meetings meant the summer study committee would not have time on Wednesday to finalize recommendations to the Legislature, committee co-chair Republican Sen. Kevin Jensen said in a KELOLAND News interview before the meeting.
