INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - A Grain Valley man was arrested Wednesday morning in Independence after injuring two people by crashing his car into their home.

Court documents filed in Jackson County revealed that 53-year-old Keith Richard Clausen has been charged with felony second-degree assault and misdemeanors for fourth-degree assault and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.

Independence police were called to a home just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday after Clausen lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the corner of a home. A probable cause document said Clausen was traveling between 50 and 55 miles per hour in the seconds before the crash.
