COCONINO COUNTY, Ariz. — The Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel Campground facilities will be reopening after the destructive Dragon Bravo Fire caused several closures at Grand Canyon National Park earlier this year.
Starting Nov. 1, visitors will once again be able to use the cabins and campgrounds at the two sites. The Lower South Kaibab Trail will also be reopening to the public.
The North Kaibab Trail, north of the Clear Creek Trail junction, will remain closed due to post-fire hazards.
The lightning-caused fire started on July 4 and burned over 145,000 acres in northern Arizona before it was completely contained in late September.
The National Park Service noted how the River Trail, from River Resthouse to the South Kaibab Trail junction, will remain closed until Dec. 31.
