GRAND CANYON, Ariz. (ABC4) — The National Park Service (NPS) announced that Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel Campground will reopen to Grand Canyon visitors on Nov 1.
The NPS shared that the reopenings will restore access to inner canyon destinations following earlier closures caused by the Dragon Bravo Fire, trail stabilization efforts, and ongoing infrastructure work.
Additionally, the lower section of the South Kaibab Trail will reopen to day-use visitors on Nov. 1.
Closures still in effect
The NPS shared that the River Trail, from River Resthouse to the South Kaibab Trail junction, will remain closed through Dec. 31. This includes the Silver Bridge.
The North Kaibab Trail north of the Clear Creek Trail junction will remain closed until further notice.
