BUFFALO, N.Y. — On November 1, millions of Americans could lose their SNAP benefits due to the current government shutdown.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides funds to low-income families to help supplement their grocery budget and afford food essentials.
Many people and their families may need to turn to local food pantries looking for assistance in filling their cupboards or refrigerators.
Here are some places you can find assistance:
FeedMore WNY, which provides meal services, as well as food for local pantries, has a pantry finder on their website. You can search for a pantry near you: https://www.feedmorewny.org/programs-services/find-food/ . Just type in your address, and it will be up a map with the nearest food pantry or soup kitchen near you.
