AMHERST, NY — An investigation is underway after a garage caught fire early Friday morning.
According to the Amherst Central Fire Alarm Office, Harris Hill firefighters responded to a house on Main Street and found a garage fully engulfed in flames around 2am.
Firefighters say all occupants were safely out of the home.
Amherst Central Fire Alarm, Main-Transit, East Amherst, Clarence, and Bowmansville Fire Departments assisted in putting the fire out and began overhaul operations.
The fire caused around $150,000 in damage to the garage and around $100,000 to its contents.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time. The Erie County Sheriff's Fire Inspectors are leading the investigation.
