(FOX40.COM) — Adults are seeing more tricks when buying treats for Halloween, as tariffs hike up the prices for Halloween candy this year.
A study done by the Century Foundation and Groundwork Collaborative found that prices for candy rose by 10.8% percent in 2025, compared to last year, nearly four times inflation, as a result of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Price hikes on certain candies are higher than others, the foundation said, as Tootsie Roll Prop had a 33.9% increase, while Variety packs from Hershey’s are up by 22.1%. Meanwhile, a Mars variety pack is up by 12.1%.
