HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point mother is accused of severe neglect that led to the death of her 13-year-old daughter and the abuse of her surviving twin son, according to police and court documents.
On Oct. 13, officers responded to a welfare check at a home on East Farris Avenue, where they discovered the girl dead and a 13-year-old boy inside the residence, according to police.
Following weeks of investigation and interviews, detectives on Oct. 30 arrested the children’s mother, Kymberli Bowden, 44, of High Point. Bowden faces two counts of felony child abuse and concealment of death. She is being held in the Guilford County Jail in High Point under a $1 million bond.
