ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Tops Friendly Markets is kicking off its 19th annual Food for Families campaign earlier than usual this year in response to the recent pause in SNAP benefits. The effort aims to support neighbors facing food insecurity across the region.

The campaign provides critical support to Foodlink and local food pantries during what officials say is a time of increased need.

“Our Food for Families campaign has always been about giving back to the communities we serve,” said Ron Ferri, president of Tops Friendly Markets. “We are here to help support our neighbors during this trying time and want to ensure that no one has to wonder where their next meal will come from.”

Starting Saturday, Nov. 1, through Dec. 24, customers can donate to the campaign at the register in $5, $
