COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The high school state cross country meet is set for Friday and Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

The A&M Consolidated girls are sending a full team to state for the third year in a row. They finished fifth last year in Class 5A and are looking to build on that success this weekend.

“The expectation is pretty high as far as we talk about that,” Consol cross country head coach Anthony Branch said. “We’re willing to embrace that. We enjoy embracing the expectation of making the state meet every year and that’s a goal for the program, and eventually try to win our 12th state championship.”
